Comfort Inn Altoona - Des Moines

A couple of down faults were..when we checked in tbey told us the pool was out of order. So we had to walk across parking lot to use another hotels pool. Then we found out that the guest laundry machines also were out of order. But when i took our wet suits and towles down to them they immefiately dried and returned them to our room. There was a block of rooms that a large group had amd there was a few youngsters who were very loud and disdupted late i to the night. The manager tried to control it but only so much they can do.

What a delightful Comfort Inn! Clean comfortable room with snuggly coverlet. Friendly staff. Breakfast was a surprise with hot food. The sausage links were delicious and a step above most other Comfort Inns. The hotel is convenient to the casino and restaurants. I took an Uber to the Brass Armadillo since my husband had an all day workshop nearby. Highly recommend this Comfort Inn. We will definitely stay here again!!

Good location. The gal at the front desk was very nice. Greeted when we walked in to check in to our room. Room was very clean and it was a quite. Has free breakfast which is just your typical hotel breakfast. All in all we had a great stay.

We were driving through Iowa, on our way to Michigan. We decided to get a hotel on a Saturday night around the DesMoine area. The prices of other hotels in the area were expensive. We read the reviews on this Comfort Inn and decided to try it. We called and the employee was very helpful. The room looked and smelled clean . The breakfast area was clean and the employee was helpful! We will definitely stop there again on a future trip,

I drove to Altoona Iowa from the Springfield Illinois area for my job at Prairie Meadows Racetrack. I gallop the racehorses on the racetrack in the mornings. I was exhausted from the drive and it was about 8:30 at night. Ginger was SO GREAT! I was in a jam with my debit card and she didn't hesitate to help me out. It's people like Ginger that make this world a beautiful place. If it wouldn't have been for her, I would have been sleeping in my jeep all night then having to gallop 10 horses at 6am. Choice Hotels needs to give Ginger a huge raise because she is just an all around awesome person!

The front desk lady was SOOOO nice!....exceptionally helpful and my room was VERY clean and the hotel smelled clean. Im not sure of her name but I checked in on 12.26.25 around 730 pm- ish.

Very decent hotel for the price. My room was clean, with the exception of a few small area of dust (picture frame corners, etc). The facilities are fresh and welcoming, I would stay here again without hesitation.

The room was very nice. The counter person was pleasant. I was a little disappointed with breakfast. I was told there would be biscuits and gravy in the morning but there wasn't. Bummer, that sounded good. Anyway the rest of the breakfast was better than most. They had the usual cereal, juices, toast and danishes. The hot food was scrambled eggs sausage and Cake waffles. I did not try the cake waffles but they are supposed to be good if you like that sort of thing. I would recommend this place and I will stay there again next time I'm in Des Moines.
